Processing guidelines have changed (October 20, 2009)

The HUBZone regulations state that SBA will make a determination within 30 calendar days after receipt of a complete package whenever practicable.

The processing guidelines changed significantly on July 2008 to ensure that only eligible firms are HUBZone certified. The HUBZone program office is now requesting full documentation to support answers submitted on the electronic application, resulting in extended processing timeframes. Also, due to the popularity of the HUBZone certification the SBA has experienced a significant spike in monthly applications received. The SBA is very concerned with the current application certification timeline. The HUBZone program office is initiating business processing actions in order to streamline the application process.
