Diana McClure

Diana McClure is Assistant Vice President, Business Protection, Institute for Business & Home Safety (IBHS), an initiative of the insurance industry to reduce deaths, injuries, property damage, economic loss and human suffering caused by natural disasters. She was responsible for development of an interactive, web-based small to mid-sized business continuity planning and property protection tool for IBHS member company employees, agents and policyholders entitled Open for Businesssm, and the translation of that tool into a print/CD version for the general public. She has worked in a number of other capacities with IBHS since 1997, including development and implementation of the Showcase Program for Natural Disaster Resistance and Resilience at the community and state level and on safe growth/land use issues. She represents IBHS at national, state and local meetings, conducts workshops and training sessions, writes proposals and articles for publication and gives national, regional and local press interviews.

From 1989 to 1996, Diana served as a mitigation specialist with the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) in New England. She traveled throughout the U.S. to help communities recover from natural disasters. Prior to that, she served as a regional representative for the Insurance Information Institute, and a consultant on civil liability of law enforcement officials and on civil rights conflict management.

Diana has a BA in International Relations from Brown University and a MSW from Boston College.
