Mark Llano grew up in the Tampa, Florida and is a native Floridian. His family migrated from Cuba many years ago and open Salgado grocery store in Key West which is now a historic monument. Mark having spent most of his career on Wall Street as an Investment Banker with an extensive background in building both personal books of business and corporate entities. Having served 5 years in the United States Marine Corps Mark was called up for active duty during the build up for Desert Storm and was selected (1% selection rate) to teach FBI agents and elite military special opps units hand to hand combat. Returning from active duty, Mark continued his undergrad education while working with the Sherwin Williams Company. Upon graduation, he was rapidly promoted to the position of flagship Commercial Branch Manager, where he reversed the performance of a failed branch, earning him President's Club accolades. Looking to enhance his career, he left Sherwin Williams (with an open invitation to return) to join Barber and Bronson, Inc in Ft. Lauderdale (and, later, to open their Hilton Head branch). While with Barber and Bronson, he enjoyed 3 years of multimillion dollars sales, was promoted to partner and he developed as personal clients the CEO of Estee Lauder, the CEO of Cardinal Health, the CEO of Scott Paper Products, and two Presidents of UPS. After four years with Barber and Bronson, he was recruited by Charles Garcia in 1997 (CEO Sterling Financial Investment Group) a minority owned business and to become a Partner and founding officer, starting with only 3 people today there are 640 employees, 50 offices and 7 international. They were recently ranked as the eighth fastest growing privately held companies in the United States by Inc. Magazine. Having served successfully in start ups and mid-sized organizations, Mark started Source One Distributors, Inc. in 2003. The company is a certified by the SBA as a 8(a), SDB, Minority and Veteran owned/operated small business (8a/SDB/MBE/VOSB). The company was started for the purpose of supporting the military and federal government. The objectives of the company are to supply the military, DHS, SOCOM, DOD, NASA and other federal agencies and large corporations with "Best of Class" products, alternate choices of gear at competitive prices while adding value to how these products are procured. Source One is currently services 63 Military Bases (supporting National Industries of the Blind "NIB"), Florida Turnpike, 6 State Law Enforcement agencies, Florida National Guard, NATICK and 3 major fortune 500 companies. |
